VEF-1200-GB Molten Salt Reactor with Integrated Glovebox for Air-Sensitive Materials
The VEF-1200-GB is engineered for laboratory processes involving molten salts that require strict atmosphere control to prevent contamination by moisture or oxygen. It integrates a high-temperature molten salt reactor with a glovebox, enabling safe manipulation of air-sensitive materials while maintaining an inert environment. This setup is ideal for research and development tasks where precise temperature control and atmosphere integrity are critical.
The reactor features a hermetically sealed dual quartz chamber design that ensures safety and preserves glovebox integrity. It can operate continuously at temperatures up to 1100°C with a heating zone of 240 mm diameter by 245 mm height, suitable for sample volumes up to approximately 3 liters. The glovebox maintains moisture and oxygen levels below 1 ppm, providing an ultra-clean environment for sensitive experiments.
Key Features
- Maximum continuous operating temperature of 1100°C with controlled heating rate up to 20°C/min.
- Dual quartz chambers (inner Ø200×425 mm, outer Ø220×425 mm) for enhanced safety and atmosphere isolation.
- Hermetic chamber with gas inlet/outlet ports and optional in-situ temperature measurement capability.

Typical Applications
This reactor system is suited for molten salt electrolysis, synthesis, and processing of air-sensitive materials under inert atmosphere. It supports electrochemical studies using three-electrode setups and precise thermal treatments requiring controlled atmosphere and temperature stability.
Configuration & Operating Notes
The system includes the molten salt reactor with integrated glovebox and necessary power cords; however, electrodes and water chiller are optional. Water cooling is mandatory for vacuum flange operation to maintain system integrity. Users should ensure proper handling of air-sensitive materials within the glovebox environment and follow safety protocols for high-temperature operation.
