MSK-AFA-PD100 Precision Slot Die Sheet Coater with Heated Vacuum Chuck and Integrated Syringe Pump
The MSK-AFA-PD100 is engineered for laboratory-scale precision coating tasks requiring uniform thin films, such as those used in OLED displays, perovskite solar cells, and proton exchange membranes for fuel cells. It enables researchers to explore and optimize coating parameters with a flat slot die head that provides a 100 mm coating width, suitable for both slot die and micro gravure coating methods.
This coater integrates a heated vacuum chuck capable of maintaining temperatures up to 120°C, ensuring substrate stability during coating. The vacuum chuck is constructed from aluminum alloy with a finely controlled surface flatness and roughness, facilitating consistent film formation. A built-in syringe pump with a variable speed range from 0.05 to 5.0 mm/s allows precise slurry delivery, controlled via a 4-inch color touchscreen panel that also manages coating speed and chuck temperature.

Typical Applications
Ideal for research and development of thin film coatings in OLED fabrication, perovskite solar cell layers, and proton exchange membranes used in fuel cells. Also suitable for experimental coating of electrodes and polymer films requiring precise thickness control.
Configuration and Operating Notes
The coating thickness is influenced by slurry viscosity, coating speed, and flow rate rather than solely by the gap between the slot die and substrate. Users should optimize these parameters experimentally to achieve desired film thickness and uniformity. Optional viscosity meters and dispersing machines are recommended for slurry preparation to improve coating quality.
The system includes one 25 mL syringe with a plastic plunger and PTFE tubing for slurry feeding. Customized shims for the slot die head can be requested to tailor coating thickness ranges. Safety precautions should be observed when operating the heated chuck and vacuum system.
