Typical Applications
The IMCS-1700-MAS is ideal for producing spherical metal powders used in additive manufacturing (3D printing), thermal spray coatings, and materials research involving high-temperature alloys. It supports development of powders from Ni-based superalloys, refractory metals, and high-entropy alloys, enabling precise control over particle size and morphology.
Configuration & Operating Notes
The system includes a high-purity graphite crucible with a specialized nozzle for atomization and a thermocouple sheath. Optional accessories such as crushers, jet mills, and vibrating sieves are recommended to improve powder yield and particle size uniformity by processing larger particles post-atomization.
Operators must use appropriate safety gear including goggles due to the high-pressure operation. The input gas pressure should be regulated below 10 bars to ensure safe atomizing conditions. The equipment requires a cooling water supply exceeding 116 liters per minute to maintain coil temperature.
