SPG-6VMS Compact 1″ Vacuum Levitation Melting System with 6KW High-Frequency Induction Heater for Metallic Alloys up to 10g

This levitation melting system employs a 6KW ultra high-frequency induction heater paired with a specially designed multi-turn helical conical coil. The coil generates a magnetic vortex that suspends the conductive metal sample inside a 1-inch diameter quartz tube, eliminating contact with any crucible. This crucible-free approach significantly reduces contamination risks. The system integrates a rotary vane vacuum pump and a recirculating water chiller, enabling immediate operation with controlled vacuum and cooling.

Key Features

  • 6KW induction heater with adjustable output frequency from 100 to 500 kHz for precise melting control
  • Vacuum-sealed 1″ quartz tube with double high-temperature silicone O-rings and integrated vacuum ports
  • Includes 156 L/m rotary vane vacuum pump with exhaust filter and KF25 quick clamps for vacuum integrity
  • Recirculating water chiller with 722 kCal/h cooling capacity and temperature control from 2 to 35°C
  • Motor-driven manipulator for rigid support and easy height adjustment of the sample
  • Integrated mobile steel cart housing heater, pump, and chiller for compact laboratory footprint

Typical Applications

This system is suited for research and development of advanced metallic alloys, especially those requiring crucible-free melting to avoid contamination. It supports melting and levitation of small conductive metal samples such as aluminum, magnesium, copper, and their alloys under vacuum conditions. Applications include alloy formulation, materials science studies, and small-scale metallurgical experiments.

Configuration & Operating Notes

The system includes a vacuum pump, recirculating water chiller, and a motor-driven manipulator mounted on a mobile steel cart for ease of use and mobility. The quartz tube is vacuum-sealed with double high-temperature silicone O-rings and features integrated vacuum ports and needle valves for precise atmosphere control.

Users must install a pressure regulator on the input gas tank to maintain output gas pressure below 3 PSI to prevent damage to the furnace chamber. Continuous gas flow is mandatory during heating, with flow rates limited to less than 200 SCCM. The system is designed for samples under 10 grams and requires a 50A air breaker for electrical safety.
