VBF-1200X-E8 Bottom-Loading Vacuum Furnace with 1200°C Max Temperature, Quartz Chamber, and Rapid Inert Gas Cooling

The VBF-1200X-E8 is engineered for laboratory applications requiring controlled atmosphere heat treatment with precise temperature control and rapid cooling capabilities. It is ideal for processing materials that demand vacuum or inert gas environments up to 1200°C, such as brazing, annealing, or sintering of flat samples under vacuum conditions below 1000°C.

This vacuum furnace features a motor-driven bottom loading stage that simplifies handling of large or heavy samples, combined with an electric sliding door that minimizes thermal radiation loss during loading and unloading. The quartz heating chamber, measuring 8.5 inches internal diameter by 13.4 inches height, is sealed by a water-cooled stainless steel vacuum flange to maintain a reliable vacuum or controlled atmosphere. A built-in inert gas blow system accelerates cooling by directing gas flow onto the sample, enabling faster quenching.

Key Features

  • Maximum operating temperature of 1200°C with Fe-Cr-Al doped molybdenum heating elements under inert gas, and continuous operation up to 1000°C under vacuum.
  • Quartz chamber (9″ outer diameter, 8.5″ inner diameter, 13.4″ length) replaceable for maintenance or customization.
  • Motorized bottom loading platform for ergonomic sample insertion and removal.
  • Electric sliding door to block thermal radiation and improve thermal insulation during operation.
  • Water-cooled vacuum flange with Oring fibrous alumina plate ensures durable vacuum sealing and longer service life.
  • Inert gas blow system with four gas blow tubes for rapid cooling of heated samples.
  • Dual 30-segment programmable temperature controllers with PID auto-tuning and safety protections; one controls furnace temperature, the other monitors sample stage temperature.
  • Includes vacuum components: KF25 port, dual-stage rotary vane pump, Pirani and mechanical vacuum gauges; optional turbopump available for high vacuum down to 10^-5 torr.

Typical Applications

The VBF-1200X-E8 is suited for vacuum brazing of flat samples, annealing, sintering, and other heat treatments requiring controlled atmosphere or vacuum environments. It supports processes under vacuum below 1000°C and inert gas atmospheres up to 1200°C, with rapid cooling to preserve material properties.

Configuration & Operating Notes

The furnace includes a dual-stage rotary vane vacuum pump, vacuum gauges (Pirani and mechanical), and a 5 L/min flowmeter for gas atmosphere control. A two-stage pressure regulator must be installed on the gas cylinder to limit pressure below 3 psi for safe operation. The electric sliding door should be closed immediately after lowering the sample stage to maintain thermal insulation. Optional accessories include a Pfeiffer turbopump for enhanced vacuum levels and an MTS-02 module for remote temperature control and data logging via RS485 communication.
