SP-50KTC 15KW Induction Heating System with 5″ Quartz Tube and Temperature Controller up to 2200°C for Alloy Melting and Sintering

The SP-50KTC system is engineered for laboratory-scale melting and sintering of advanced metallic alloys requiring temperatures up to 2200°C. It is particularly suited for research and development tasks involving high-temperature material processing under controlled atmospheres. The system’s design supports modifications for physical vapor transportation (PVT) or melt infiltration applications, expanding its versatility in crystal growth and materials science.

Central to the system is a 15KW induction heater operating at 220V AC three-phase power, delivering a frequency range of 30 to 80 kHz with continuous 100% duty cycle capability. The heating coil dimensions are 150mm outer diameter by 140mm inner diameter and 65mm height, cooled by a rear fan. Temperature control is managed by a digital PID controller with 30 programmable segments, enabling precise ramp rates and dwell times. The system can maintain temperatures continuously from 1000°C to 1900°C, with short-term peaks up to 2200°C for less than 30 minutes.

Key Features

  • 15KW induction heater with 30-80 kHz frequency and 100% duty cycle for stable high-power operation.
  • 5-inch (130mm OD) quartz tube chamber with hinged top flange, valves, and KF-25 vacuum port for controlled atmosphere processing.
  • Precision digital temperature controller with automatic PID tuning and 30 programmable segments for heating and cooling profiles.
  • High purity graphite crucible (2″ OD x 1.57″ ID x 4″ depth) included, supported by alumina refractory liners rated up to 2200°C.
  • Integrated vacuum pump (156 L/min) and water chiller (58 L/min flow) for environment and temperature management.
  • Safety features including automatic water pressure, over-temperature, overpower protection, and pressure relief valve at 0.02 MPa.
  • Mobile steel frame cart for convenient placement and operation of the induction heater and quartz tube assembly.

Typical Applications

The SP-50KTC is ideal for melting and sintering new metallic alloys requiring precise temperature control and controlled atmospheres. It supports research in advanced materials development, alloy formulation, and crystal growth processes such as physical vapor transportation (PVT) and melt infiltration. The system’s quartz tube chamber and vacuum capabilities enable processing under low-pressure inert gas environments to protect sensitive components like graphite crucibles and thermocouples.

Configuration & Operating Notes

The system includes a graphite crucible and alumina refractory assembly as standard consumables; spares are available separately. The quartz tube chamber is equipped with hinged flanges, valves, and vacuum ports for flexible atmosphere control. A mobile steel cart facilitates equipment placement and operation. Continuous inert gas flow is required during heating to protect the graphite crucible and thermocouple. The C-type thermocouple is consumable and not covered under warranty. A two-stage pressure regulator must be installed on the gas supply to limit pressure below 3 PSIG for safe operation. Protective shields are provided to contain any accidental quartz tube breakage. Optional upgrades include a high-speed turbo vacuum pump for improved vacuum levels and specialized crucibles for wafer substrates or melt infiltration.
