RTP-HFU-3000 High Vacuum Ultrafast Heating Furnace with Flash Sintering up to 3000°C

The RTP-HFU-3000 is engineered for rapid thermal processing tasks requiring ultrafast heating under high vacuum conditions. It is particularly suited for sintering carbon-based materials such as sheets or paper by applying flash sintering techniques inside a robust stainless steel vacuum chamber. This setup enables precise control of temperature and atmosphere, essential for advanced material research and development.

The furnace achieves temperatures up to 3000°C with heating rates exceeding 200°C per second, allowing extremely fast thermal cycles. Temperature is monitored and controlled using a high-accuracy infrared pyrometer through a quartz observation window, with options for manual or automated PID control. The system includes PC software for programmable temperature profiles and pulse frequency adjustments on the DC power supply.

Key Features

  • Stainless steel SS304 vacuum chamber with water cooling jacket and graphite sheet heaters.
  • Flash sintering capability up to 3000°C with heating rates over 200°C/s.
  • Infrared pyrometer with ±(0.5% F.S. + 2°C) accuracy for temperature measurement from 1000 to 3000°C.
  • Programmable 30-segment temperature profiles with PID control and manual DC regulation modes.
  • DC power supply delivering up to 24 VDC and 250 A with adjustable pulse frequencies from 25 to 500 Hz.
  • Quartz observation window (Ø138 mm) and digital vacuum gauge included for process monitoring.
  • Optional turbopump for achieving ultimate vacuum levels better than 1e-6 torr and water chiller for electrode cooling.

Typical Applications

The RTP-HFU-3000 is ideal for rapid thermal processing and flash sintering of carbon-based materials, ceramics, and advanced composites requiring high temperatures and controlled atmospheres. It supports research in solid electrolyte pellet fabrication, thin film sintering, and other high-temperature material treatments under vacuum.

Configuration & Operating Notes

The furnace includes a water-cooled vacuum chamber and graphite sheet heaters. Optional accessories include a mechanical vacuum pump, turbopump station for ultra-high vacuum, and a recirculating water chiller for electrode cooling during intermittent operation. Users should ensure proper vacuum pump compatibility and cooling water supply. Temperature control can be manual or automated via PID, with pulse frequency adjustable on the DC power supply. Safety precautions for high-voltage DC operation and high-temperature handling must be observed.
