MSK-EC-200 Corona (Air Plasma) Surface Treatment System for Roll-to-Roll Substrate Cleaning with 200 or 300 mm Width

The MSK-EC-200 is engineered to improve the surface properties of various cast film substrates, particularly conductive materials such as copper and aluminum foils. It is commonly employed in laboratory and production environments where enhanced adhesion and coating quality are critical for subsequent processing steps like printing, coating, or grafting.

This system utilizes a ceramic roller electrode to generate corona discharge by applying high-frequency (8 kHz to 21 kHz) and high-voltage (up to 3 kV) electric power. The corona discharge produces a low-temperature plasma that modifies the surface polarization of substrates, thereby increasing their surface energy and improving wettability and adhesion characteristics.

Key Features

  • Capable of treating conductive substrates including copper and aluminum foils.
  • Selectable maximum treating widths of 200 mm or 300 mm to accommodate different roll sizes.
  • Operates on 220 VAC ±10%, single-phase power supply; 110 VAC version available with optional transformer.
  • Built-in safety features including overload protection, short/open circuit detection, grounding checks, and alarm system.
  • Equipped with a 100 mm diameter vent port for ozone gas extraction to maintain safe operation.
  • Requires compressed air at 0.4–0.6 MPa to adjust the roller gap; air compressor and fittings are not included.
  • Designed for roll-to-roll processing to enhance coating adhesion and surface modification efficiency.

Typical Applications

The MSK-EC-200 is widely used for surface modification tasks such as improving adhesion before coating, printing, or grafting on conductive films. It is suitable for cast film substrates including copper foil, aluminum foil, and other conductive materials in roll-to-roll manufacturing or laboratory research setups.

Configuration & Operating Notes

The system includes the corona discharge roller unit and a controller box. Optional roll-to-roll and coating systems can be integrated to enhance processing efficiency and coating quality. Users must provide compressed air supply and ensure proper ozone ventilation during operation. The equipment should be installed on a stable, flat surface and grounded properly. Operators are advised to wear electrical insulation gloves and take precautions to avoid ozone exposure.
