IMCS-1700GB Induction Melting System with Integrated Glove Box, O2 & H2O < 1 ppm, Up to 2000ºC
The IMCS-1700GB is engineered to support the melting and processing of air-sensitive metallic alloys by integrating a high-power induction melting furnace within a controlled atmosphere glove box. This design ensures that oxygen and moisture levels remain below 1 ppm, protecting sensitive materials from contamination during high-temperature treatment.
The system utilizes electromagnetic induction heating to rapidly reach temperatures up to 2000ºC, with continuous operation up to 1600ºC and short-term capability at the maximum temperature. The melting chamber consists of a 5-inch quartz tube surrounded by a 15 kW induction coil, housed within a glove box equipped with advanced gas purification and automatic purging to maintain an inert atmosphere.

Typical Applications
Ideal for research and development involving air-sensitive metallic alloys requiring controlled inert atmospheres during melting and casting. Suitable for materials science studies, alloy development, and high-purity metal processing where contamination must be minimized.
Configuration & Operating Notes
Optional accessories include a recirculating water chiller for enhanced temperature stability and a double-stage rotary vane vacuum pump with exhaust filter for vacuum applications. The system requires a two-stage pressure regulator on the inert gas supply to maintain safe operation below 6 bar. Regular regeneration of the purification system is necessary to sustain low oxygen and moisture levels. The oxygen sensor is consumable with an approximate one-year lifespan. Use of flammable or toxic gases is not recommended without proper safety measures. For low melting point alloys, stainless steel crucibles are available to prevent contamination. Boron nitride liners can be requested to avoid graphite contamination.
