GSL-800X-MH100 Tube Furnace with 100 mm ID for Controlled Atmosphere Heating up to 800°C under High Magnetic Fields

The GSL-800X-MH100 is engineered to facilitate advanced material property studies in environments subjected to strong magnetic fields greater than 10 Tesla. It accommodates a quartz processing tube with a 100 mm inner diameter and a length of 1000 mm, providing a spacious heating zone of 750 mm length. This setup enables precise thermal treatment under controlled atmospheres up to 800°C, ideal for research requiring stable high-temperature conditions within magnetic fields.

The furnace incorporates a non-magnetic SS316 austenitic steel case to minimize magnetic interference, complemented by water cooling to maintain surface temperatures below 70°C. Its dual spiral-wound molybdenum resistance wire heating elements are designed to reduce Lorentz forces, ensuring stable operation under magnetic influence. Temperature is regulated by a Eurothermo-3000 PID controller with ±0.1°C accuracy, supporting up to 50 programmable segments and remote communication via RS-485.

Key Features

  • Maximum continuous operating temperature of 800°C with uniform heating zone ±5°C over 250 mm length.
  • 15 kW DC programmable power supply delivering 0-24 V output for precise heating control.
  • Quartz processing tube (Ø100 mm OD × Ø90 mm ID × 1000 mm length) with SS316 flanges for hermetic sealing.
  • Water-cooled furnace housing to maintain safe surface temperatures during operation.
  • Integrated safety monitor to cut power if tube surface temperature exceeds 70°C.
  • Compatible with magnets having a minimum bore diameter of 200 mm.
  • Steel rigger included for safe and convenient lifting of the tube assembly.

Typical Applications

This tube furnace is suited for experimental studies of material behavior and phase transitions under combined high temperature and strong magnetic field conditions. It supports inert gas atmospheres and can be used for magnetic field-dependent synthesis, annealing, and characterization of advanced materials.

Configuration & Operating Notes

The furnace requires an inert gas atmosphere for safe operation due to the molybdenum heating elements. Water cooling is mandatory to maintain safe surface temperatures. Optional accessories include a vacuum pump capable of achieving 50 mtorr for rapid air evacuation and a spare heating coil for user replacement. The system includes a steel rigger for safe handling of the quartz tube assembly.
