It is particularly suited for applications involving sensitive materials that demand uniform heating within a vertical quartz tube environment. The automatic bottom loading mechanism facilitates safe and efficient sample handling, minimizing exposure and contamination risks during insertion and removal.
This furnace operates with a 6-inch outer diameter fused quartz tube, providing a 144 mm inner diameter and 600 mm length processing zone. The heating system consists of two zones totaling 350 mm in length, delivering a uniform temperature zone of 120 mm with ±2°C stability. Heating elements are FeCrAlMo wire, capable of reaching 1200°C for short durations (up to 30 minutes) and sustaining 1100°C for extended periods. Temperature control is managed via a programmable touchscreen panel with two 50-segment controllers and K-type thermocouples, achieving ±1°C accuracy. An optional Eurotherm controller upgrade can improve accuracy to ±0.1°C.

The furnace can be optionally equipped with a vacuum system using mechanical or molecular pumps to achieve vacuum levels down to 10⁻⁵ Torr. It can also be upgraded to an automatic hydrogen furnace by adding a gas delivery unit, hydrogen burner, and leak detector. The included PC interface and software enable remote operation and multi-furnace control. Water cooling is essential to protect sealing components and maintain system integrity during operation.
