The furnace includes a split cover for easy pressure vessel replacement and aluminum heat sinks to maintain safe flange temperatures. Samples must be placed inside quartz or alumina crucibles, optionally wrapped in gold or nickel foil to prevent contamination and vessel degradation. Direct sample contact with the vessel is prohibited to avoid alloy reactions and vessel damage.
Safety precautions require setting high-pressure alarm thresholds before operation and gradual pressure increase using an external two-stage regulator (not included). The solenoid valve provides automatic pressure relief up to 15 MPa; for operations exceeding this, manual valve closure and separate pressure protection are necessary. Flange bolts should be tightened using a recommended torque wrench to prevent damage.
The system includes a laptop with preinstalled MTS-01 software for remote monitoring and control of temperature and pressure, with optional wireless control available. Compliance certifications include CE, with NRTL or CSA certification optionally available.
