IMCS-1500RC Atmosphere Controlled Induction Melting and Continuous Casting Furnace for Non-Ferrous Metals

The IMCS-1500RC is engineered to facilitate the continuous casting of non-ferrous metals and alloys in rod, plate, or wire form under a controlled inert gas atmosphere. This system is particularly suited for producing metallic wires used in additive manufacturing processes, offering precise temperature control and atmosphere management to ensure high-quality casting results.

Key Features

  • Induction melting with a maximum temperature of 1500ºC (optional 1700ºC).
  • Continuous casting capability for wire (φ6-φ30mm), tube/rod (φ10-φ50mm), and plates (2-70mm width).
  • Graphite crucible and lower mold included, designed for up to 5 kg melting capacity.
  • Adjustable traction speed up to 20 cm/min for controlled casting rates.
  • Inert gas protection using argon or nitrogen with purity of 99.99%, flow rate approximately 2 L/hour.
  • Vacuum casting option available with additional vacuum chamber for enhanced atmosphere control.
  • Electronic temperature control with B-type thermocouple for precise monitoring and minimal overshoot.

Typical Applications

This system is ideal for research and development of non-ferrous metal alloys, preparation of metallic wires for additive manufacturing, and continuous casting of rods, plates, and wires in controlled atmospheres to prevent oxidation and contamination.

Configuration & Operating Notes

The standard package includes graphite crucibles and a double stage rotary vane vacuum pump. Optional upgrades include higher temperature capability (1700ºC) and vacuum casting chambers for enhanced atmosphere control. A pressure regulator must be installed on the input gas tank to maintain output pressure below 3 PSI and ensure continuous gas flow. Operators must monitor chamber pressure closely to avoid damage from overpressure. Water cooling is required, with either tap water or a recirculating chiller recommended but not included.
