SP-MSM-8 8-Station Automatic Arc Melting System with Electro-Magnetic Stirring for High Throughput Alloy Research
Central to the system is a water-cooled copper hearth featuring eight individual cavities (25 mm diameter by 8 mm depth) that prevent cross-contamination between samples. A 4 mm diameter tungsten electrode mounted on a CNC-controlled three-axis stage (X, Y, Z) enables precise positioning and programmable stirring motions to achieve uniform melting. The system supports both stationary arcing and adjustable stirring motions (1–10 mm diameter) to optimize melting homogeneity for larger samples.

Typische Anwendungsbereiche
This system is suited for research and development of advanced alloys requiring high throughput sample preparation under ultra-clean conditions. It supports uniform melting of multiple small samples for materials science, metallurgy, and alloy design studies.
Hinweise zur Konfiguration und zum Betrieb
The system includes a glove box with purification system, CNC-controlled tungsten electrode with arc melting stinger, water-cooled copper hearth, and recirculating water chiller. Optional electromagnetic stirring or vacuum casting devices can be installed at the bottom of each cavity but cannot be used simultaneously. High-purity argon gas (>99.999%) is required for operation; 5% hydrogen in argon is needed for filter regeneration (both gases not included).
Users must follow safety precautions including avoiding contact of the tungsten electrode with samples or copper hearth during operation, wearing eye protection, and performing regular regeneration of the purification system. The oxygen sensor is consumable with an approximate one-year lifespan.
