OTF1700X4RHP Rapid Heated Pressing Furnace with Induction Heating, Up to 1700ºC and 100 MPa Pressure

The OTF1700X4RHP is engineered for rapid consolidation of powdered materials into dense pellets using a combination of high temperature and pressure within a controlled atmosphere. This system is ideal for laboratory applications requiring precise hot pressing under vacuum or inert gas environments to prevent oxidation or contamination during processing.

This furnace integrates a 15 kW induction heating coil housed inside a stainless steel vacuum chamber, enabling rapid heating of the graphite pressing die to temperatures up to 1700ºC. The induction coil frequency ranges from 30 to 80 kHz, providing efficient and uniform heating. The pressing mechanism is an electrically driven hydraulic press inserted from the bottom of the chamber, delivering up to 5 metric tons of force, which translates to a maximum sample pressure of 100 MPa when using the included graphite dies.

Wichtigste Merkmale

  • 15 kW induction heater with precise temperature control and rapid heating rates.
  • Stainless steel vacuum chamber with KF-25D port, pressure gauge, and gas inlet valve for inert or vacuum atmospheres.
  • Electric hydraulic press with 60 mm piston diameter and 35 mm vertical travel, pressure accuracy ±0.1 MPa.
  • Included high-purity isotropic graphite die set with 0.5″ inner diameter, supporting up to 100 MPa sample pressure.
  • Temperature controller with PID tuning, programmable profiles up to 30 segments, and B-type thermocouple.
  • Vacuum capability down to 10^-5 Torr with optional turbopump and rotary vane pump (not included).
  • Optional upgrades available for 2000ºC maximum temperature and larger graphite dies.

Typische Anwendungsbereiche

This furnace is suited for rapid hot pressing and consolidation of powdered ceramics, metals, and composite materials in research and development settings. It enables fabrication of dense pellets and components requiring controlled atmosphere and precise temperature-pressure profiles.

Hinweise zur Konfiguration und zum Betrieb

The system includes one set of high-purity isotropic graphite dies with mica spacers for height adjustment and thermal insulation. Graphite dies are consumable and fragile; additional sets can be ordered separately. Optional vacuum pumps and water chillers are required but not included. Safe operation requires a two-stage gas pressure regulator limiting gas inlet pressure below 3 psi. The furnace design was updated in December 2025 for improved exterior.
