OTF1200XSVTQ Compact Vertical Inert Gas Quenching Furnace with 50 mm Quartz Tube, Max 1200°C
The OTF1200XSVTQ is engineered for laboratory applications requiring rapid quenching of materials from high temperatures into inert liquid media. This vertical tube furnace utilizes a 50 mm outer diameter quartz tube to heat samples up to 1200°C, enabling detailed investigation of phase transitions and microstructural changes in materials such as titanium alloys.
Samples or crucibles are suspended inside the quartz tube and can be quickly dropped into a container filled with mineral or silicone oil for quenching. The top of the tube is sealed with an air-tight flange equipped with a valve and gas inlet, allowing inert gas purging during the quenching process. The bottom of the quartz tube remains open to the quenching media, ensuring rapid thermal transfer.

Typische Anwendungsbereiche
This furnace is ideal for metallurgical research involving rapid quenching to capture transient microstructures, phase transformation studies, and heat treatment of alloys such as titanium. It supports inert gas environments to minimize oxidation during high-temperature processing.
Hinweise zur Konfiguration und zum Betrieb
The furnace includes a stainless steel container for quenching media such as mineral or silicone oil. For enhanced quenching performance and oxidation prevention, use silicone oil with a recirculating chiller (available optionally). The furnace can be converted for vacuum heat treatment by replacing the bottom flange and removing the liquid container. Safety precautions should be observed when handling hot samples and quenching liquids.
