GSL1500XRTP50 Slideable Tube Furnace with 1500°C Max Temperature and Rapid Heating/Cooling via Sliding Flanges, 50 mm OD Tube
The GSL1500XRTP50 furnace is engineered for laboratory applications requiring rapid thermal processing of materials within a controlled atmosphere. It accommodates 50 mm outer diameter processing tubes made of mullite or quartz, each 304.8 mm (12″) in length with one closed end. This design enables precise thermal treatments up to a maximum temperature of 1500°C, suitable for advanced material synthesis and heat treatment tasks.
A key feature is the sliding flange mechanism on the furnace’s right side, allowing manual insertion and removal of the processing tube. This facilitates rapid heating by inserting the tube into a preheated chamber and rapid cooling by withdrawing it for forced air or enhanced cooling under vacuum or inert gas. The furnace supports vacuum levels down to 10-5 torr with a turbopump, enabling high-purity processing environments.
Wichtigste Merkmale
- Maximum temperature of 1500°C with ±1°C temperature accuracy and continuous operation at 1400°C using mullite tubes.
- Sliding flange with double chromium-plated steel rails for 350 mm travel, enabling fast tube exchange.
- Four silicon carbide (SiC) heating rods rated for 1500°C provide uniform heating over a 152 mm zone.
- Two S-type thermocouples: one controls furnace temperature, the other monitors sample temperature inside the tube.
- Digital vacuum gauge and 1/4″ fitting on flange for thermocouple insertion and vacuum monitoring.
- Dual digital temperature controllers with programmable segments and over-temperature protection for unattended operation.
- RS485 communication port for integration with computerized control systems.

Typische Anwendungsbereiche
Ideal for rapid thermal processing of materials requiring precise temperature control and fast thermal cycling, such as solid-state electrolyte powder preparation, thin film annealing, and advanced ceramic sintering. Suitable for use under vacuum or inert atmospheres to prevent contamination.
Hinweise zur Konfiguration und zum Betrieb
The furnace includes one mullite and one quartz processing tube as standard consumables. Optional CF-type quartz tubes with CF flanges are available for ultra-high vacuum applications (up to 10-6 torr). The sliding flange assembly uses chromium-plated steel rails for smooth manual operation. A digital vacuum gauge and valves are included; however, vacuum pumps must be sourced separately.
For rapid heating, insert the processing tube into the preheated furnace chamber. For rapid cooling, withdraw the tube and apply forced air or liquid nitrogen-assisted cooling. Safety precautions include using a two-stage gas pressure regulator to maintain pressure below 3 PSIG, continuous pressure monitoring, and wearing heat-resistant protective gear when handling hot tubes. Processing tubes are consumable and may break during use; replacements should be ordered as needed.
