HTVO-600 Atmosphere Controlled Pyrolysis Box Furnace with 450L Chamber and Five-Side Heating for Enhanced Temperature Uniformity

The HTVO-600 furnace is engineered to support precise atmosphere-controlled pyrolysis and debinding applications, particularly for carbon-based materials such as biochar, biomass, and hard carbon. Its substantial chamber volume of 450 liters (W 50 × D 150 × H 60 cm) accommodates large samples or batches, enabling efficient processing in research and industrial settings.

This furnace employs a unique five-side heating design—covering front, back, sides, and bottom—divided into three independently controlled zones. This configuration significantly improves temperature uniformity within the chamber, achieving ±5°C stability over a uniform heating area of 40 × 130 × 40 cm at 600°C. The stainless steel 304 chamber is gas-tight and compatible with controlled gas atmospheres and vacuum conditions, enhancing process flexibility.

Key Features

  • Large 450L chamber with dimensions W 50 × D 150 × H 60 cm for substantial sample capacity.
  • Three-zone heating with five-side heating elements for superior temperature uniformity.
  • Stainless steel 304 gas-tight chamber suitable for inert atmospheres and vacuum operation.
  • Special heating elements designed for carbon-based materials, including FeAlCr or SiC options.
  • Programmable PID temperature controllers with 30-segment profiles and ±1°C stability.
  • Optional vacuum system with KF40 port enabling vacuum levels below 5 × 10⁻² torr after bakeout.
  • Water cooling for doors and covers to protect sealing components during operation.

Typical Applications

The HTVO-600 is ideal for pyrolysis, debinding, and heat treatment processes requiring controlled atmospheres, especially for carbonaceous materials such as biochar, biomass, and hard carbon. It supports research and production workflows in materials science, energy storage, and chemical processing.

Configuration & Operating Notes

The furnace includes hanging heating elements designed for straightforward replacement and optional quartz shielding to extend element life in harsh environments. Water cooling is essential for protecting door seals and o-rings during operation. The system supports PC communication with software for temperature programming, recipe management, and data logging. Vacuum operation requires an external pump with recommended speed of 800 L/min.
