VEF-1200 Molten Salts Reactor with Moveable Electrodes for Electrolysis, Up to 1200°C

The VEF-1200 is engineered to facilitate molten salt electrolysis reactions, particularly suited for Molten Salt Electrolytic Graphitization (MSEG). It addresses the need for precise temperature control and atmosphere management during high-temperature electrochemical processes involving molten salts.

This system integrates a hermetically sealed quartz vacuum chamber allowing atmosphere control and pressure regulation below 3 psig. The reactor accommodates a quartz crucible and features a manual vertical travel mechanism for loading and retrieving electrodes under an air-tight flange, ensuring minimal contamination and operational safety.

Key Features

  • Maximum continuous operating temperature of 1100°C with capability up to 1200°C.
  • Hermetic quartz vacuum chamber (Ø200 × 425 mm) with 13.2 L nominal capacity for controlled atmosphere processing.
  • Manual vertical electrode travel system compatible with Ø6 mm electrodes, facilitating safe insertion and removal.
  • PID temperature controller with ±1°C accuracy and 50 programmable segments for precise thermal profiles.
  • Quartz crucible (Ø120 × 114 × 150 mm) with positioning frame for electrode alignment.
  • Three copper electric feedthroughs for electrode connections; graphite electrodes available optionally.
  • Optional accessories include stainless steel chamber for operations below 900°C, secondary materials feeder, water chiller, vacuum pump, and programmable DC power supply.
