STX-203 Automatic Precision Diamond Wire Saw with Digital Control and Protective Chamber

The STX-203 is engineered for laboratory applications requiring precise, low-stress cutting of small, hazardous, or radioactive samples. It accommodates samples up to 2 inches (50 mm) in diameter or thickness, providing ultra-thin sectioning capabilities down to 0.08 mm. The saw operates within a sealed protective chamber to prevent contamination from hazardous dust generated during cutting.

This model integrates a digital control panel located outside the chamber, allowing operators to set cutting parameters and monitor the process safely. A digital microscope with 10x to 200x magnification and wireless monitor facilitates precise sample positioning before cutting. The motorized sample stage offers two-dimensional movement (Y and Z axes) with 360° horizontal rotation and ±10° tilt for flexible sample orientation.

Key Features

  • Protective chamber design minimizes contamination from hazardous or radioactive dust.
  • Digital control panel and color touch screen enable precise adjustment of wire travel speed, feed speed, and cutting width.
  • Digital microscope with wireless monitor supports accurate initial cut positioning with magnification from 10x to 200x.
  • Pneumatic wire tension system with digital pressure regulator maintains stable tension for wires ranging from 0.12 mm to 0.5 mm diameter.
  • Motor-driven Y-Z stage with 63 mm Z-axis and 50 mm Y-axis travel, including 360° rotation and ±10° tilt.
  • Ultra-thin sectioning capability down to 0.08 mm thickness for delicate sample preparation.
  • Includes one spool of 0.35 mm diameter diamond wire (20 m length) and a diamond blade dressing stone for wire maintenance.
  • Water pump included for cooling the diamond wire during cutting; requires use of anti-corrosive oil or radiator water as coolant.

Typical Applications

Ideal for cutting toxic, hazardous, or radioactive samples requiring contamination control. Suitable for ultra-precise sectioning of meteorites, brittle crystals, non-ferrous alloys, epoxy, plastics, and other delicate materials up to 2″ diameter or 50 mm thickness.

Configuration & Operating Notes

The saw includes one spool of 0.35 mm diameter diamond wire and a diamond blade dressing stone for maintaining wire sharpness. A water pump is provided for cooling the wire during cutting; users must supply anti-corrosive oil or radiator water as coolant to prevent rust. Use of proper cutting fluid is mandatory to avoid damage and corrosion. The pneumatic tension system requires an air compressor; a digital pressure regulator is optional for precise tension control.

Operators should clean the machine thoroughly after each use, especially when using water-based coolants. Regular lubrication of the motor shaft and application of anti-wear hydraulic oil before initial use and every 150 hours of operation is recommended. For cutting sticky materials, frequent wire sharpening using the dressing stone is advised.
