MSK-USP-12 Floor-Stand Ultrasonic Spray Pyrolysis Coater with 400×400 mm Heating Plate up to 500°C and Dual Ultrasonic Sprayer Heads

The MSK-USP-12 is engineered to support advanced thin film coating applications requiring uniform deposition of fine droplets onto heated substrates. It is particularly suited for research and development in materials science, photovoltaics, and semiconductor fabrication where controlled spray pyrolysis is essential. The system accommodates substrates up to 400 by 400 mm and heats them to temperatures as high as 500°C, enabling pyrolytic reactions during coating.

This coater employs two ultrasonic sprayer heads operating at approximately 40 kHz to generate droplets averaging 10 to 20 microns in diameter. Users can select between a cylindrical nozzle producing a narrow ~2 cm spray pattern or a cone nozzle with a wider ~4 cm coverage. The integrated digital dispensing unit holds 250 ml of coating fluid and allows precise flow control from 1 to 10 ml per second via a responsive touch screen interface. The sprayer traverses the substrate in X and Y directions up to 400 mm with adjustable speeds up to 800 mm/s, ensuring uniform coverage.

Key Features

  • Large 400×400 mm substrate heating plate with maximum temperature of 500°C and ±1°C digital control accuracy.
  • Two ultrasonic sprayer heads: cylindrical (narrow ~2 cm) and cone (wide ~4 cm) spray patterns.
  • Ultrasonic frequency at 40 kHz ±10%, producing fine droplets sized 10-20 microns.
  • Digital dispensing unit with 250 ml capacity and adjustable dispensing rate from 1 to 10 ml/sec.
  • Touch screen control panel for precise adjustment of X-Y traverse distances (up to 400 mm) and speeds (10-800 mm/s).
  • Pressure regulator with gauge for accurate compressed air control; requires ~4 bar compressed air supply.
  • CE certified with optional NRTL filed service certification available upon request.

Typical Applications

The MSK-USP-12 is ideal for fabricating thin films in photovoltaic research, including perovskite solar cells, and for producing metal oxide coatings such as TiO2 via spray pyrolysis. It supports development of inorganic-organic hybrid heterojunctions and other advanced material coatings requiring precise droplet size and uniform substrate heating.

Configuration & Operating Notes

The unit includes two ultrasonic sprayer heads and one digital dispensing unit as standard. It requires an external compressed air supply at approximately 4 bar; if using a gas cylinder instead of an air compressor, a two-stage pressure regulator must be installed to maintain safe operating pressures. The working chamber is not flame-proof, explosion-proof, or vacuum-sealed; users should follow appropriate safety protocols when handling hazardous materials. For vacuum-sealed applications, consider alternative models designed for such environments.
