GSL-1700X-60-VTQ High-Temperature Quenching Tube Furnace with Ø60mm Alumina Tube and Electromagnetic Sample Release
The GSL-1700X-60-VTQ is engineered for advanced materials research requiring precise high-temperature treatment and rapid quenching capabilities. It is particularly suited for studying phase transformations and microstructural evolution under controlled atmospheres or vacuum conditions. The furnace accommodates samples up to 50 mm in diameter and 65 mm in length within a high-purity alumina tube, ensuring chemical inertness and thermal stability during processing.
This tube furnace integrates a Ø60 mm outer diameter by Ø54 mm inner diameter alumina processing tube with a 135 mm effective heating length. The heating elements consist of four U-shaped molybdenum disilicide (MoSi2) elements rated for operation up to 1700°C, with a constant temperature zone of 60 mm controlled within ±5°C. The furnace structure features double-layer steel casing and high-purity fibrous alumina insulation rated for 1800°C, optimizing thermal efficiency and safety.

Typical Applications
This furnace is ideal for research involving high-temperature phase transformations, sintering studies, and microstructure analysis under controlled atmospheres or vacuum. It supports rapid quenching to preserve transient phases or microstructures formed at elevated temperatures. Applications include ceramics, metallurgy, and advanced materials development.
Configuration & Operating Notes
The furnace includes a vacuum-tight alumina tube assembly with flanges, valves, and a vacuum gauge. The electromagnetic sample release system automatically drops the sample into the quenching tank upon deactivation. Users must employ ice water or cooled oil as quenching media when operating under vacuum to ensure safety and effective cooling.
A two-stage pressure regulator is required to maintain gas pressure below 3 PSI during inert gas quenching. The furnace should not be operated with graphite crucibles inside the alumina tube. Temperature calibration prior to use is recommended for accurate control. Optional accessories include advanced temperature controllers and PC communication modules for remote monitoring and programming.
