OTF1200XS5-ASDC 1200°C 5-Inch Atmosphere Controlled Automatic Tube Furnace with Integrated Quenching System

The OTF1200XS5-ASDC is engineered for advanced laboratory heat treatment processes requiring precise atmosphere control and rapid cooling. It is ideal for applications where controlled thermal cycles and immediate quenching are critical, such as materials research and sintering workflows. The system integrates vacuum sealing, gas purging, programmable heating, and quenching into a single automated sequence managed via laptop control.

This tube furnace features a 5-inch diameter quartz processing tube housed within a 350 mm long heating chamber, including a 120 mm constant temperature zone with ±5°C uniformity. The furnace can reach a maximum temperature of 1200°C for short durations and sustain continuous operation at 1100°C. A motorized airtight flange and automatic chamber pressure control (1–200 kPa) ensure a controlled atmosphere during treatment. The integrated quenching system includes a movable tank compatible with water, oil, or sand cooling media, and a rotating quartz sample stage enables automated sample transfer for rapid cooling.

Key Features

  • Maximum operating temperature of 1200°C (limited to under 1 hour) with continuous operation at 1100°C
  • 5″ quartz processing tube (130 mm outer diameter, 120 mm inner diameter, 700 mm length) with water-cooled stainless steel vacuum flanges
  • Programmable PID temperature controller with ±1°C accuracy and up to 30 temperature segments
  • Automatic vacuum sealing, gas purging, chamber pressure control, and motorized flange operation
  • Integrated movable quenching tank compatible with multiple cooling media and rotating quartz sample stage for automated quenching
  • Included rotary vacuum pump capable of achieving 10 Pa vacuum as specified by the manufacturer
  • Optional robotic integration for multi-furnace automation, remote operation, and data logging

Typical Applications

This furnace is suited for automated heat treatment processes in materials science, including sintering, annealing, and atmosphere-sensitive reactions. Its integrated quenching capability supports rapid cooling for phase transformation studies and microstructure control. The system is also applicable in research requiring precise atmosphere control and programmable thermal profiles.

Configuration & Operating Notes

The furnace includes a rotary vacuum pump and water-cooled vacuum flanges but requires an external inert gas supply and recirculating cooling water system, which are not provided. An optional KJ5000 water chiller is available for laboratories lacking suitable cooling water. Robotic integration for automated sample handling and multi-furnace control is offered as an optional upgrade. Users should verify cooling water flow rates and gas supply compatibility prior to installation. Fragile components such as the quartz tube are excluded from warranty coverage.
