OTF-1600X-III Three-Zone Split Tube Furnace with 80mm Diameter Alumina Tube and Vacuum-Sealed Flange
The OTF-1600X-III is engineered for precise thermal processing tasks requiring controlled atmospheres and high temperatures up to 1600°C. Its split-able design allows convenient access and tube exchange, facilitating multi-purpose applications in research and industrial laboratories. The furnace is optimized for use under vacuum or low-pressure conditions, making it suitable for sensitive material treatments and chemical vapor deposition processes.
This model incorporates three independently controlled heating zones, each 200 mm in length with 20 mm spacing, totaling 600 mm of heating length. The central constant temperature zone extends 350 mm with a temperature stability of ±2°C. The heating elements are 1600°C grade silicon carbide rods housed within an 80 mm outer diameter alumina tube, which is vacuum-sealed with a flange to maintain controlled atmospheres. Temperature is monitored by three S-type thermocouples and regulated by a microprocessor-based self-tuning PID controller, achieving ±1°C accuracy without overshoot.

Configuration & Operating Notes
The furnace includes two thermal blocks for sample placement inside the alumina tube. Flange supports to prevent tube rotation are available as optional accessories. Customers are responsible for on-site installation of silicon carbide heating rods following the provided instructions due to their fragility during shipping. The system is designed for vacuum and low-pressure operation below 0.02 MPa; use of graphite crucibles inside the alumina tube is not recommended. A two-stage pressure regulator must be installed on gas cylinders to limit pressure below 3 PSI for safe operation.
Optional add-ons include a PC control module with software for temperature profile editing and data logging, Eurotherm 3204 temperature controllers with ±0.1°C accuracy, and a laptop pre-installed with control software and Windows 10. The power plug is not included and must be sourced separately.
