OTF1700X4RHP Rapid Heated Pressing Furnace with Induction Heating, Up to 1700ºC and 100 MPa Pressure
The OTF1700X4RHP is engineered to rapidly consolidate powdered materials into dense pallets by applying simultaneous heat and pressure within a controlled atmosphere. This system is ideal for research and development tasks requiring precise thermal and mechanical processing under vacuum or inert gas environments. The furnace integrates a high-power induction heating coil inside a stainless steel vacuum chamber, enabling rapid temperature ramp-up to 1700ºC, with an optional upgrade to 2000ºC available.
Pressing is achieved via an electric hydraulic piston inserted from the chamber bottom, delivering up to 5 metric tons of force, corresponding to 100 MPa pressure on the graphite die. The system includes a precision digital temperature controller with PID tuning and programmable segments for heating, dwelling, and cooling, ensuring accurate temperature management and protection against overheating or thermocouple failure.

Typical Applications
This furnace is suited for rapid consolidation and sintering of powdered metals, ceramics, and composite materials requiring high temperature and pressure under controlled atmospheres. It supports research in materials science, advanced ceramics, battery electrode fabrication, and other fields demanding precise hot pressing.
Configuration & Operating Notes
The system includes one set of high-purity isotropic graphite pressing dies (0.5″ ID) and mica spacers for insulation and height adjustment. Graphite dies are consumable and fragile; additional sets and custom sizes are available at extra cost. Vacuum pumps and water chillers are required but not included; recommended models are specified. Safe operation requires inert gas supply with a two-stage pressure regulator limiting pressure below 3 psi. The furnace features multiple safety protections including water pressure monitoring and thermal safeguards.
