MSK-211-VGB Automatic Electrolyte Injection and Manual Sealing Vacuum Glovebox for Cylindrical Battery Cells

The MSK-211-VGB is engineered to facilitate the precise assembly of cylindrical lithium-ion battery cells by integrating electrolyte injection and manual sealing within a vacuum-compatible glovebox environment. This system enables researchers to fabricate cells without the need for costly dry room facilities, maintaining stringent control over moisture and oxygen exposure to protect sensitive electrode materials.

By operating under vacuum conditions reaching as low as 0.08 Torr or in an inert gas atmosphere, the glovebox minimizes chemical oxidation during electrolyte wetting and cell sealing. The combination of automated electrolyte metering and manual pneumatic crimping ensures high reproducibility and quality in cylindrical cell production, supporting research closer to industrial standards.

Key Features

  • Heavy-duty stainless steel vacuum glovebox with internal dimensions 1120mm(L) x 740mm(W) x 900mm(H).
  • Vacuum capability down to 0.08 Torr with closed flanges; inert gas atmosphere operation with open flanges.
  • Integrated XYZ three-axis platform for automated electrolyte injection into up to 64 cylindrical cells (18650 format) per tray.
  • High-precision rotating plunger metering pump delivering injection accuracy of ±0.3%.
  • Manual pneumatic crimping machine with adjustable pressure and built-in gauge, compatible with standard 18650 sealing dies.
  • Touchscreen control panel located outside the glovebox for programming vacuum levels, injection parameters, and platform movement.
  • Includes a 240 L/m double-stage rotary vane vacuum pump with exhaust filter and built-in lighting and power extension inside the glovebox.

Typical Applications

This system is ideal for research and development of next-generation lithium-ion cylindrical cells, enabling controlled electrolyte filling and sealing processes that reduce oxidation and improve cell quality. It supports academic and industrial battery research where dry room conditions are unavailable or cost-prohibitive.

Configuration and Operating Notes

The glovebox includes a single built-in antechamber; a dual antechamber is available as an option. Custom trays for different cylindrical cell sizes can be ordered separately to accommodate formats beyond 18650. The pneumatic crimping machine uses standard 18650 dies included; other sizes require prior notification and are not recommended for user replacement. Optional gas purification systems and compressive gas pumps are available to maintain ultra-low oxygen and moisture levels.
