MSK-113-CP Compact Vacuum Electrolyte Injection System for Pouch and Cylindrical Cell Batteries

The MSK-113-CP is engineered to facilitate the controlled injection of liquid electrolyte into both pouch and cylindrical battery cells, addressing the critical need for precise electrolyte filling and sealing in advanced battery research and production. This system is particularly suited for use within inert atmosphere gloveboxes, such as those filled with argon gas, to prevent contamination and ensure optimal cell performance.

The device integrates vacuum injection, vacuum standing, and pouch cell sealing into a single compact unit controlled via a color touchscreen PLC interface. It supports electrolyte injection under adjustable vacuum levels or inert gas pressure to enhance electrode immersion and minimize electrolyte evaporation. The system accommodates pouch cells up to 180 mm by 180 mm by 12 mm and cylindrical cells including 4680 sizes, with adapters available for 18650 and 21700 cells at additional cost.

Key Features

  • Vacuum electrolyte injection combined with vacuum standing and pouch cell sealing in one compact system.
  • Programmable control of vacuum level, inert gas pressure, electrolyte volume, injection speed, sealing temperature, and time via touchscreen.
  • High-precision electrolyte plunger metering pump with 1% injection accuracy.
  • Supports both pouch and cylindrical cells; pouch cell max dimensions 180×180×12 mm, cylindrical cells including 4680 size.
  • Independent dual temperature controllers for left and right sealing dies with adjustable temperature range 50–220°C.
  • Operable inside or outside argon gloveboxes; requires high purity inert gas supply (0.6–0.8 MPa) for pneumatic system.
  • Compact desktop design with PLC control and adjustable electrolyte injection under vacuum or inert gas.

Typical Applications

This system is ideal for battery research and development involving pouch and cylindrical lithium-ion cells, including advanced chemistries such as lithium-sulfur, lithium-air, and solid-state batteries. It enables precise electrolyte filling and sealing under controlled vacuum or inert atmosphere conditions, critical for achieving high cell performance and reproducibility.

Configuration & Operating Notes

The system requires a double-stage rotary vacuum pump (not included) for vacuum generation. High purity inert gas supply at 0.6–0.8 MPa is necessary for pneumatic operation and dry atmosphere maintenance. When using gas cylinders, a two-stage pressure regulator must be installed to ensure safe pressure levels.

Sealing dies should be cleaned after each use once cooled to prevent corrosion from electrolyte residues. The system’s airtight chamber supports operation inside argon gloveboxes, facilitating assembly of sensitive battery chemistries. Monitoring electrolyte loss during injection is recommended using a high-precision digital balance placed inside the chamber due to possible evaporation under vacuum conditions.
