The GSL1100X-NT tube furnace is engineered for precise thermal treatment of small samples housed within tubes of 1 to 2 inches in diameter. It is particularly suited for applications requiring controlled heating cycles such as firing, sintering, vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) growth, chemical vapor deposition (CVD), and quenching tests. Its design allows flexible orientation, enabling operation in vertical, horizontal, or angled positions to meet specific process requirements including electronic crystal growth and semiconductor material processing.
This furnace features a high-purity alumina fibrous insulation liner and a stainless steel shell with adjustable height. The vertical position can be finely tuned within a 4.5 to 12 inch travel range using three rear knobs. The heating zone extends 12 inches (300 mm) with a constant temperature zone of 3.1 inches ±1°C and 4 inches ±2°C, ensuring uniform thermal conditions. The maximum operating temperature reaches 1100°C for short durations, with continuous operation up to 1000°C.

The furnace is sold without quartz tubes, vacuum flanges, valves, or vacuum gauges; these are available separately. Two quartz tube sizes (25 mm OD x 22 mm ID and 50 mm OD x 44 mm ID) can be used with included adaptors for 1″ tubes. Optional ceramic tube blocks and quartz blocks improve thermal insulation and vacuum efficiency. For vacuum applications, appropriate vacuum pumps and pressure gauges are recommended. Gas flow rates should be limited to under 200 ml/min to prevent thermal shock. Safety precautions include installing a two-stage pressure regulator on gas cylinders to maintain pressure below 3 PSI.
