Product Overview

The MSK-SFM-2-1 is a laboratory planetary ball mill designed for efficient grinding, mixing, homogenization, and fine powder preparation. Featuring four milling stations and a maximum combined jar capacity of 4 liters (4 × 1000 mL), the system provides a flexible solution for small-batch material processing, laboratory research, and experimental powder production.
The equipment supports a selection of milling jars with nominal capacities ranging from 500 mL to 1000 mL per station. Different grinding jar materials and milling media can be selected according to the sample’s physical properties, chemical compatibility, and contamination requirements. The four-station configuration allows multiple samples to be processed simultaneously under suitable operating conditions.
The MSK-SFM-2-1 uses a digitally controlled planetary milling mechanism to generate centrifugal forces for effective particle size reduction and uniform powder mixing. Its adjustable revolution and jar self-rotation speeds provide flexibility for processing metallic powders, ceramic materials, minerals, metal oxides, chemical compounds, and other laboratory research samples.
Designed for research laboratories, universities, industrial R&D departments, and material testing facilities, this planetary ball mill is suitable for applications in geology, mining, metallurgy, electronics, construction materials, ceramics, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical research, and environmental material studies.

Operating Guidelines & Application Notes

  • Appropriate Jar Selection: Choose compatible grinding jars and milling media based on the hardness, chemical properties, and contamination requirements of the material.
  • Balanced Loading: Install milling jars symmetrically with similar total weights to maintain stable rotation. Follow the equipment instructions when operating with fewer than four jars.
  • Sample Preparation: Keep the feed particle size within the recommended limits before loading materials into the milling jars.
  • Grinding Parameters: Adjust milling speed, processing duration, rest intervals, grinding media, and sample loading according to the material and desired particle size.
  • Temperature Management: Long milling cycles can generate heat. Select suitable milling intervals and consider compatible cooling options where required.
  • Electrical Compatibility: Verify the facility’s power supply, transformer requirements, grounding, and plug configuration before installing the machine.
  • Particle Size Results: Final grinding performance depends on material properties, jar and ball selection, rotation speed, milling duration, and processing conditions.
  • Safe Operation: Secure all milling jars, check equipment loading, and follow the operating manual before starting a milling cycle.
Configuration Note: Milling jars, grinding media, adapters, cooling accessories, electrical connections, and certification documents should be confirmed in the final PENGXIN Machinery quotation. The 4 L capacity refers to the combined nominal capacity of four 1000 mL grinding jars and does not represent the recommended working sample volume. Actual grinding results depend on the materials and processing conditions.
