OTF-1200X-III-H2 Three Zone Hydrogen Gas Tube Furnace with 82mm Nickel-Based Superalloy Tube and Dual Hydrogen Detectors, Up to 1200°C

The OTF-1200X-III-H2 is engineered for precise thermal processing of materials in a controlled hydrogen atmosphere, addressing the challenges of hydrogen embrittlement and safety at elevated temperatures. Its robust nickel-based superalloy tube ensures structural integrity during hydrogen exposure, enabling continuous operation at temperatures up to 1200°C.

This tube furnace features three independently heated zones totaling 600mm in length, allowing uniform temperature distribution and precise control over the processing environment. Safety is enhanced by integrated dual hydrogen detectors that monitor for leaks and automatically shut off the hydrogen supply to prevent hazardous conditions.

Wichtigste Merkmale

  • Nickel-based superalloy seamless tube (Cr20Ni25Al15) with 80mm outer diameter and 72mm inner diameter, 1200mm length.
  • Three heating zones (each 180mm) with a constant temperature zone of 260mm ±3°C for uniform heating.
  • Maximum continuous tube temperature of 1200°C; short-term tolerance up to 1250°C.
  • Dual hydrogen detectors: one fixed on the furnace and one portable for leak detection, with two-level alarms and automatic gas shutoff.
  • PID automatic temperature controller with 30-segment programmable profile and RS485 communication port for PC control.
  • Double-layer steel casing with air cooling to maintain surface temperature below 80°C and high-purity fibrous alumina insulation for energy efficiency.
  • Includes SS304 flanges with KF-25 gas outlet port and a gas flow meter for precise hydrogen flow adjustment.

Typische Anwendungsbereiche

This furnace is ideal for materials research and processing requiring controlled hydrogen atmospheres at high temperatures, such as sintering, annealing, reduction reactions, and hydrogen embrittlement studies. It supports vacuum and low-pressure hydrogen environments with precise temperature control.

Hinweise zur Konfiguration und zum Betrieb

The furnace includes four alumina tube blocks coated with alumina to reduce heat radiation inside the tube. Stainless steel flanges and a KF-25 gas outlet port are standard. A two-stage pressure regulator must be installed on the hydrogen cylinder to limit pressure below 3 PSI for safe operation. The system includes a gas flow meter and two lighters for manual ignition of hydrogen gas. Optional advanced temperature control software and Eurotherm 3004 controller upgrades are available for enhanced precision and PC integration.

Users should limit gas flow rates to below 200 SCCM to minimize thermal shock to the tube and operate under vacuum or low pressure conditions as specified. The furnace surface temperature is maintained below 80°C by air cooling to ensure safe handling.
