QF-800 Rapid Melting and Quenching Furnace with 800°C Resistance Coil and Liquid Gallium Quenching Bath

The QF-800 is engineered to facilitate advanced research on rapid solidification and supercooling phenomena by enabling precise melting and quenching of materials within a controlled atmosphere. This system integrates a high-temperature resistance coil furnace capable of reaching 800°C, housed inside a sealed stainless steel vacuum chamber to maintain an inert environment during experiments.

Materials are melted in a quartz crucible and then rapidly injected into a heated liquid gallium bath through pressurized inert gas, typically helium at 10 bar. The gallium bath is maintained at controlled temperatures up to 200°C with magnetic stirring to ensure uniform quenching conditions. This setup allows researchers to study melt quenching and supercooling with precise thermal and atmospheric control.

Key Features

  • Airtight SS304 stainless steel vacuum chamber with 315 mm diameter and height
  • Resistance coil furnace reaching up to 800°C for short durations (under 30 minutes)
  • Quartz melting crucible with 14 mm inner diameter and 1 mm discharge hole for molten material handling
  • Pressurized inert gas injection system (recommended helium at 10 bar) for molten material transfer
  • Heated liquid gallium quenching container with integrated magnetic stirring and temperature control up to 200°C
  • Programmable PID temperature controller with 30 segments and ±1°C accuracy
  • DB9 PC communication port with included control software for process automation
