RTP-MS-AR-1 Automatic Ultrafast Heating and Pressing System with 2300°C Max Temperature and 8-Pellet Robotic Loading

The RTP-MS-AR-1 system addresses the need for rapid thermal processing and pressing of small pellet samples in a controlled high vacuum environment. It is engineered to sinter and press up to eight 10 mm diameter pellets per batch automatically, significantly improving throughput and repeatability in materials research and development workflows.

This system integrates a stainless steel vacuum chamber capable of reaching pressures as low as 5×10-5 torr (cold state) with an automated open/close mechanism. A robotic arm handles the loading and unloading of graphite dies containing the pellets, enabling fully automated operation over a typical 6-hour cycle.

Key Features

  • High vacuum stainless steel chamber with automatic open/close and inert gas purging capabilities.
  • Ultrafast heating up to 150°C per second, reaching maximum temperatures of 2300°C.
  • Pressing force programmable up to 500 N with ±10 N accuracy for precise sample compaction.
  • German-made infrared pyrometer for accurate temperature measurement through a 35 mm observation window.
  • Fully automated robotic pellet loading and unloading system handling 8 pellets per batch.
  • Programmable temperature profiles with up to 30 segments controlled via PID controller.
  • Optional vacuum pumps and water chillers available to support system operation.

Typical Applications

This system is ideal for rapid thermal processing tasks such as flash sintering and pressing of ceramic, alloy, and composite pellets in research labs. It supports high-throughput sample preparation with precise temperature and pressure control under high vacuum or inert gas atmospheres.

Configuration & Operating Notes

Samples are manually loaded into graphite dies, which the robotic arm then transfers into the vacuum chamber. The system automatically cycles through vacuum pumping, inert gas purging, pressing, heating, cooling, and pellet ejection. Optional automated powder dispensing and loading can be requested. A water chiller is necessary for operation but must be sourced separately. Safety precautions should be observed when handling high temperatures and vacuum conditions.
