GSL-900X-8-R Rotary Tube Furnace with 8″ ID 310S Alloy Tube, Up to 900°C, Optional 600 or 900 mm Heating Zones for Continuous Calcining

This furnace incorporates an 8-inch inner diameter tube made from 310S high-temperature alloy, capable of continuous operation up to 900°C under 0.2 MPa pressure. Users can select between two heating zone configurations—either two zones totaling 600 mm or three zones totaling 900 mm in length—each controlled independently by digital PID controllers with programmable temperature profiles. The system also includes rotatable airtight flanges with vacuum and gas inlet ports to support controlled atmospheres.

Key Features

  • 8″ ID 310S alloy processing tube with four welded stirring blades for uniform mixing.
  • Maximum continuous operating temperature of 900°C at 0.2 MPa pressure.
  • Selectable heating zones: two zones (300+300 mm) or three zones (300+300+300 mm) with independent PID controllers.
  • Rotary speed adjustable from 0.3 to 8 RPM for controlled material agitation.
  • Double shell casing with air cooling fan and high purity alumina fiber insulation for energy efficiency.
  • Rotatable airtight flanges equipped with KF25 vacuum port and 1/4″ gas inlet for atmosphere control.
  • Optional Eurotherm 3000 temperature controllers available for enhanced control accuracy ±0.1°C.

Typical Applications

This rotary tube furnace is primarily used for continuous calcination of metal oxides and inorganic compounds in laboratory R&D settings. It is especially effective for synthesizing cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries, including LiFePO3 and LiMnNiO3. The stirring blades and rotary motion ensure homogeneous heat treatment and material mixing during processing.

Configuration & Operating Notes

The furnace includes a double shell casing with an air cooling fan and high purity alumina fiber insulation to optimize energy efficiency. The processing tube is splittable for easy replacement. Users can choose between two or three heating zones, each with independent programmable temperature control. Optional Eurotherm 3000 controllers can be installed for higher precision temperature management. The rotatable airtight flanges facilitate vacuum or controlled gas atmospheres via KF25 vacuum ports and gas inlets. Proper handling and safety precautions should be observed when operating at high temperatures and with reactive materials.
