OTF-1600X-UL 1600°C Split Tube Furnace with Vacuum Flanges, Valves, and Optional 60 or 80mm Alumina Tube

The OTF-1600X-UL furnace is engineered for precise high-temperature processing of materials requiring controlled atmospheres, including vacuum and flowing gases, at temperatures reaching up to 1600°C. Its split-able alumina tube design allows convenient sample loading and unloading while maintaining a sealed environment. This furnace is ideal for applications such as materials synthesis, annealing, and heat treatment under vacuum or inert gas conditions.

The furnace incorporates high-grade Kanthal GLOBAR SG 1650 silicon carbide heating elements arranged in a 390mm total heating zone with a 160mm uniform temperature zone controlled within ±1°C. Users can select between 60mm or 80mm outer diameter alumina tubes, both 1000mm in length, to accommodate different sample sizes. Stainless steel vacuum flanges equipped with valves and gauges enable reliable vacuum sealing and gas flow control. The system supports vacuum levels down to 10^-5 torr with appropriate pumps (not included).

Key Features

  • Split-able alumina tube furnace with options for 60mm or 80mm outer diameter tubes, 1000mm length.
  • Kanthal GLOBAR SG 1650 grade SiC heating elements providing up to 1550°C max temperature.
  • Stainless steel vacuum flanges with valves and gauges for vacuum and gas atmosphere control.
  • PID temperature controller (FA-YD518P-AG) with 30 programmable segments and ±1°C accuracy.
  • Double-layer steel casing with air cooling to maintain surface temperature below 60°C.
  • High purity fibrous alumina insulation and refractory coating for energy efficiency and extended furnace life.
  • Vacuum capability down to 10^-5 torr with suitable pumps (not included).

Typical Applications

Ideal for vacuum or controlled atmosphere heat treatments such as sintering, annealing, oxidation, and materials research requiring precise temperature control and atmosphere isolation. Suitable for semiconductor, ceramic, and advanced material processing.

Configuration & Operating Notes

  • The furnace includes alumina foam blocks for thermal radiation blocking inside the tube; these must be fully inserted before heating.
  • Vacuum pumps and gas delivery systems are not included and must be purchased separately.
  • Optional temperature controller upgrades and software packages are available for enhanced control and data management.
  • Use stainless steel piping for optimal vacuum performance and consider digital vacuum gauges for precise monitoring.
  • Ensure installation of a two-stage pressure regulator on gas cylinders to maintain safe operating pressures below 3 PSI.
  • Graphite crucibles should not be used inside the alumina tube to avoid damage.
