KSL-1500X-S-H 1500°C Hybrid Furnace with 1.7L Muffle Box and 2″ Mullite Tube, Programmable PID Controller
The KSL-1500X-S-H hybrid furnace is engineered to meet the needs of laboratories requiring flexible high-temperature processing capabilities. It combines a 1.7-liter muffle furnace chamber with a 2-inch diameter mullite tube, enabling both batch heating and controlled atmosphere or vacuum tube furnace operations within a compact footprint. This dual-function design supports diverse material treatments such as sintering, annealing, and vacuum processing.
The furnace chamber measures 120 x 120 x 120 mm, heated by four U-shaped silicon carbide elements capable of continuous operation at 1400°C and short-term peaks up to 1500°C for up to 60 minutes. A drop-down door with a 2″ opening allows insertion of the mullite tube for vacuum or inert gas environments. The included vacuum flange assembly supports mechanical and turbo pumping to achieve vacuums down to 10-5 torr, suitable for sensitive processing.

Typical Applications
Ideal for material science labs performing sintering, annealing, oxidation, and vacuum heat treatments. Suitable for research involving controlled atmospheres, vacuum processing, and thermal cycling of ceramics, metals, and composites.
Configuration & Operating Notes
The furnace includes a 2″ thermal block made of fibrous alumina installed in the front door. A power cable is supplied without a plug; users must install a plug compatible with their local power standards or select an optional plug accessory. Optional laptop and LabVIEW-based temperature control software are available for advanced profile management and remote operation up to 200 meters.
To extend component lifespan, it is recommended to limit heating and cooling rates to 10°C per minute. Normal surface cracking of refractory ceramics may occur over time and can be repaired with alumina coating. Replacement of SiC heating elements is necessary if performance degrades or maximum temperature is not reached.
