Product Overview

The MSK-SFM-50 is a high-throughput laboratory vortex vibratory ball mill designed for simultaneous grinding, mixing, and homogenization of multiple small-volume samples. Featuring a standard sample holder with 50 grinding positions, the system provides an efficient solution for laboratories requiring rapid sample preparation, comparative materials research, and high-throughput experimental processing.
The machine utilizes high-frequency vortex vibration to generate repeated interactions between the sample material and grinding media. When used with compatible yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) ceramic milling beads, the vibration mechanism promotes particle size reduction, powder dispersion, and uniform mixing within individual sample tubes.
Equipped with an LCD digital controller, the MSK-SFM-50 allows users to adjust vibration speed from 500 to 2500 RPM and configure operating time according to experimental requirements. Depending on the material properties, sample loading, grinding media, and selected milling conditions, certain small-volume samples may be processed within short milling cycles.
The standard sample holder accommodates up to 50 compatible nylon grinding tubes with an approximate diameter of 16 mm and a nominal volume of 15 mL each. Alternative sample holders are available for different tube diameters and quantities, providing flexibility for laboratories processing a variety of sample containers.
The MSK-SFM-50 is particularly suitable for ceramic materials screening, metal oxide research, battery materials development, chemical powder preparation, and materials discovery programs. Its multi-sample design helps improve experimental efficiency while supporting consistent processing conditions across numerous research samples.

High-Throughput Grinding & Mixing

The MSK-SFM-50 is designed for laboratories performing parallel experimental processing and comparative analysis of multiple sample compositions. Its high-throughput design allows compatible tubes to be processed simultaneously, reducing the need for repeated individual grinding operations.
During milling, the vortex vibration mechanism transfers energy to the sample containers and grinding media. Repeated contact between the milling beads and powder particles can promote particle breakage, dispersion, and mixing. The processing effect depends on the vibration speed, bead size, sample volume, material properties, and operating duration.
With suitable sample holders and compatible containers, the machine can be configured for different research applications, including ceramic compound screening, powder formulation experiments, and small-batch sample homogenization.
