MSK-SFM-ALO Compact Ceramic Jaw Crusher with Digital Particle Size Adjustment
The MSK-SFM-ALO is a compact electric jaw crusher designed for laboratory sample preparation. Equipped with two high-purity alumina jaw plates, it breaks down sintered blocks and other suitable materials before ball milling or further fine grinding. The ceramic crushing surfaces help minimize metallic contamination introduced by the jaw plates.
A digital micrometer allows adjustment of the crushing gap for a nominal output particle size of 0.1–3 mm. The crusher processes approximately 200 g per batch and collects crushed material in a removable drawer. An optional discharge slide plate supports continuous sample discharge when used with continuous feeding.
Key Features
- High-purity alumina jaws: Help reduce metallic contamination from the crushing surfaces.
- Digital size adjustment: A digital micrometer provides convenient adjustment of the crushing gap.
- Efficient pre-crushing: Prepares sintered blocks and bulk samples for subsequent fine grinding.
- Compact laboratory design: Suitable for small-batch sample preparation in research laboratories.
- Accessible cleaning: Stainless steel sample inlet and outlet can be cleaned with a brush.
- Flexible collection: Removable collection drawer as standard, with an optional slide plate for continuous discharge.

Typical Applications
- Breaking down sintered blocks before ball milling.
- Pre-crushing ceramic materials and suitable brittle laboratory samples.
- Sample preparation where metallic contamination from the jaws must be minimized.
- Reducing bulk sample size before subsequent wet or dry fine grinding.
Available Options
- Manganese steel jaw plates: An alternative to the standard alumina plates.
- Discharge slide plate: Enables continuous sample discharge in place of drawer collection.
Application Notes
- Use only materials with a hardness below Mohs 8 and within the specified feed size range.
- Select the crushing gap according to the sample and the requirements of the next processing step.
- Actual output particle size varies with material hardness, elasticity, and other sample properties.
- Use suitable sieving equipment after crushing when a defined particle size fraction is required.
- For finer powders, follow crushing with an appropriate wet or dry milling process.
- Clean the sample inlet, outlet, and crushing surfaces between batches to reduce cross-contamination.
